The Opportunity
As a mid-level Full-Stack Software Engineer (SE3) at PayGround, you will focus on refining our internal tools, maintaining existing systems, and improving the developer experience of your colleagues. Beyond mere coding, this role demands the design of robust solutions, keen understanding of complex problems, and proactivity in resolving ambiguities. Your core responsibilities include rectifying existing system defects, crafting APIs/scripts to address functionality gaps, and developing new backend features for our customer support and operations teams. This position is integral to both our primary customer application and our internal administrative platform, necessitating a sharp eye for detail and a profound commitment to problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Internal Tooling: Lead the development and maintenance of internal tools, libraries, and frameworks that enhance the developer and customer support experience, making daily tasks more efficient and intuitive.
- Developer Experience Advocacy: Champion the needs of developers within the company, ensuring our tools and practices are tailored to enhance their workflows.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and operations to define and implement system enhancements and understand pain points in the development lifecycle.
- Full-Stack Development: Design user-centric UI using React.js, HTML, and CSS while developing and extending backend features primarily in Node.js and C#.
- API Architecture: Create and maintain APIs in NodeJS and C# that empower PayGround’s internal utilities, especially focusing on data troubleshooting and rectification.
- AWS Scalability: Build and optimize scalable solutions in AWS using Lambdas, DynamoDB, and other managed services.
- Legacy System Management: Take charge of troubleshooting defects and optimizing both services and their data stores from older systems.
- Quality Assurance: Uphold the highest standards by prioritizing code reviews, thorough testing, and actively seeking peer feedback.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Display initiative and autonomy, especially when addressing ambiguous challenges with minimal guidance.
- CI/CD Optimization: Streamline and enhance our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring swift and reliable build and deployment processes.
Qualifications
- Full-Stack Experience: Over 5 years of progressing experience in full-stack software engineering, naturally evolving toward a senior role.
- Frontend Proficiency: Skilled in frontend frameworks such as Vue and React, along with mastery in build tools like Webpack.
- Backend Expertise: Strong command over both NodeJS and C# development.
- Web Security: An acute awareness and application of web security principles and a proactive, pragmatic approach to addressing security risks
- Testing Mastery: Deep-seated understanding and experience in unit testing practices.
- Design Prowess: Demonstrated ability in crafting user-centric, responsive, and intuitive UI/UX designs.
- Agile Affinity: Well-versed with Agile/Scrum methodologies, incorporating them seamlessly into project workflows.
- Technical Communication: Outstanding capacity to articulate complex technical concepts with clarity.
- API Expertise: Proficient in designing APIs tailored for both internal use and third-party integrations.
- Modern Architectures: Mastery over microservice/serverless architectures, relational/NoSQL databases, and REST API conventions.
- Deployment and Version Control: Comfortable working with tools like Git and Bitbucket, and adept at deploying cloud solutions, specifically in AWS.
