Job Description for: Product Manager

Location: Remote or Corporate HQ – Gilbert, Arizona

About PayGround

At PayGround, we’re driven by a single, powerful mission: to modernize healthcare payments. For too long, this process has been stuck in the past, a maze of paper statements and phone calls. We’re building a unified, elegant platform that delivers the simple, seamless experience patients and providers expect. Our goal is to transform this clunky process with the kind of intuitive design and streamlined flow we see in platforms like Uber and OpenTable.

We’re a fast-growing HealthTech company, and our team is a tight-knit group of builders, collaborators, and problem-solvers. We’re passionate about what we do because we know our work makes a real difference – creating a simpler, more transparent experience for millions of people. If you’re ready to bring your expertise to a team that values innovation, autonomy, and a shared mission, you’ll feel right at home here.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Product Manager with deep expertise in healthcare, revenue cycle management, and payments to be a driving force on our team. This is a pivotal, hands-on role where you will be instrumental in building and leading our product discovery and strategy.

You’ll be the primary bridge between our customers and our development teams, translating complex market and user needs into clear, actionable product requirements. You are the voice of the customer and the market, responsible for building the foundational processes for how we innovate. Your expertise will directly shape our product strategy, ensuring we deliver measurable value and fulfill our mission to simplify healthcare payments.

Key Responsibilities

Product Discovery & Strategy Leadership

  • Lead our product discovery practice by engaging directly with providers, patients, and partners to deeply understand their needs and pain points.
  • Conduct in-depth customer interviews, usability studies, and product feedback sessions.
  • Establish and execute a process for continuous market research and competitive intelligence gathering.
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to identify new opportunities and validate product concepts.

Product Planning & Execution

  • Translate validated opportunities and business objectives into clear, well-defined product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering to ensure successful, high-quality delivery.
  • Define, manage, and communicate the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with our business goals and market needs.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on our target markets for all internal teams.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Client Experience, Sales, and Support, synthesizing their insights and communicating product priorities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure seamless product launches and go-to-market strategies.

Measurement & Outcomes

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, including adoption, engagement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze product performance post-launch and iterate based on data and customer feedback.
  • Regularly report on product performance and insights to leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of success in the US healthcare or payments space.
  • Deep domain expertise in areas such as healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM), medical billing, provider/patient payments, or health tech interoperability.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading product discovery efforts, including customer interviews, usability testing, and market research.
  • A strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to define, manage, and communicate a product roadmap.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies and working effectively with engineering and design teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with a talent for translating complex business and customer needs into clear, actionable requirements.
  • A self-starter who is energized by building new processes and practices from the ground up.

Benefits

Our benefits package is designed to reward contribution and loyalty and to attract the kind of talented individuals who have their pick of employers. We offer a highly competitive package comprising:

  • Competitive base salary
  • Stock Options
  • Core benefits including: full medical, dental, vision
